Ways to encourage your child to be a reader:
~Read at least 10 minutes daily.
~Take your child to the public library.
~Let your child see you read too!
~Students have access to class library books, school library books, and online books.
~Enourage your child to read a variety of materials and genres (magazines, cookbooks, paper and online books, fiction and nonfiction)

What extra ELA activities can I have my child do at home?
~Read daily!
~Students may work on ELA Canvas at home too! Click here for login information for Canvas.
~Students may work on iReady Reading lessons at home too!
~Have your child keep a journal (digital or paper)

~We use Canvas, an online platform, to post assignments. Students have access to work at home and school.

~Students should be reading at least 10 minutes a day. Students may read class library books, school library books, or books from home/public library!
~Students also have access to online books on Sora.

Parents Tips to Have a Successful Year:
~Join class dojo. We post information, important reminders, the newsletter, and pictures!
~Read the weekly newsletter on class dojo.
~Email or message your child's teacher on class dojo with questions or concerns. Communicate.
~Check Canvas and Powerschool about once a week to see if your child is caught up with assignments.
~Talk to your child about their day. Ask questions such as:

What is easy for you?
What is difficult for you?
Who do you play with at recess?
Who do you sit with at lunch?
How can I support you?

~You are always welcome to eat lunch with your child. Our lunch time is 11:15.
